Malcolm Stinson, 55, was born in Edmonton. Growing up, his family moved often, living in Hinton AB, Fort Vermillion AB, and Prince George BC. He returned to Edmonton to study civil engineering at the University of Alberta. Fresh out of university he started a construction company and has owned and run construction and manufacturing companies ever since. He has lived in the Ritchie community since 1980.
Malcolm is an avid athlete and has competed in triathlon at the World Ironman Championships in Hawaii along with racing in Olympic and Sprint distances at the ITU World championships in Beijing, Auckland, and Edmonton. He and his daughter are both competing in the upcoming race in Chicago. Ball hockey is a big love of his and he has captained teams to the Provincial and National Championships winning numerous medals. He is also accomplished in hockey, and BMX.
He is particularly proud of his two daughters who are getting ready to leave home and find their own way in the world. Malcolm strongly believes that freedom of choice and smaller government leads to a more prosperous and happy society.
